As a new mom, I found a few time saving household upgrades that help save me time everyday. They are clutch.

1. Upgrade that coffee maker

Coffee is my meditation. Plain old black drip coffee. Keurig is a great invention for convenience but it takes too many pods to fill up both my husband’s and my travel mug. On the other hand, my 1 year old is not a fan of working around my needs in the morning and brewing a pot of coffee is just not always in the cards. So for this problem, my solution is the Brew Express.

This coffee maker is amazing for a couple reasons but the main time saving reason is it has a hard wired water line. It is amazing how much time you save by skipping the water step. Really, it saves a ton of time!

As a bonus, the coffee tastes great, the carafe is stainless steel – it cleans so easy and keeps the coffee really hot, it brews a pot of coffee exceptionally fast, and it and doesn’t take up much countertop space.

2. Stop fumbling for your keys

My husband installed a smart lock which I initially thought was ridiculous and completely unnecessary. But it only took me a week to appreciate the convenience and accept the smart house trend. And to his credit he said he got it for me because I am always looking for my keys. Which is true, no matter how hard I try, my keys always end up at the bottom of my purse, diaper bag, work bag, or one of the 12 bags I’m carrying.

We have the Kwikset smart lock and it works great, I don’t waste time standing in front of my house looking for my keys anymore, I lock and unlock from the driveway. Since having this lock I have been able to successfully bring my sleeping child from the car into his crib. #momwin

3. Ugh, laundry

I used to be able to do all the laundry on the weekend but since becoming a mom, that doesn’t cut it anymore. Weekday loads more often than not end up needing to get rewashed because I fall asleep before I switch the load. Such a waste of time and energy! For this problem, I started using the delay end function on my washer. I set it at night to end at 5am and switch it first thing when I wake up. This seems to be a relatively common feature on newer washers so if you’re in the market for a new washing machine, I highly recommend considering one that has this delayed end feature.

What great products do you use to save time? Post you’re #momwin (or #dadwin) in the comments.
